What is Depression?
A mental state characterized by a pessimistic sense of inadequacy and a despondent lack of activity
Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, ashamed or restless. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or reduced energy may also be present.
How we can help with Depression
First we will explore the reason you are depressed
With a structured programme of therapy based on traditional counselling combined with the latest CBT techniques we will work together to eliminate the root causes of your depression. With CBT a course of therapy will take either eight or twelve weeks and we will decide this at the beginning because it determines the structure of the therapy.
Contrary to what you might be expecting, most subjects find the therapy extremely interesting and revealing about themselves and they start to feel better almost immediately.
Don't put it off any longer - life is far too short to waste any of it being unhappy!
